Furniture & interior plywood · Vietnam

Furniture plywood from Vietnam. Every face. Every grade. One container.

Valoply is a leading Vietnamese manufacturer and exporter of furniture and interior plywood, producing in three member factories in Phu Tho. Poplar, okoume, bintangor, birch-faced, melamine-faced, MDF-faced and packing plywood, each specification pressed on the line that fits it, then loaded together and shipped on one set of documents.

Six full-size plywood panels stacked like steps on a pale plinth: poplar, birch, okoume, bintangor, white melamine and walnut-look veneer faces, each edge showing thin veneer layers

The Valoply way

Three factories, one desk.

Vietnamese mills are built around one kind of panel. A poplar line is rarely the best place for a melamine order, and a packing line will not sand to furniture tolerance.

Valoply's three member factories each run a line built for a different kind of panel, and every line of your order is pressed where it is made best. You speak to one team, receive one quotation and one proforma invoice, and your inspector visits the factories that actually press your panels.

  1. 01

    The right line per specification

Face, core, glue and tolerance decide which of the three factories presses a panel, not which press happens to be free.

  2. 02

    One quotation, one loading plan

Several products from our member factories arrive at the port as one booked container.

  3. 03

    Documents from the producing factory

Invoices, packing lists and certificates are issued for the panels you receive, by the factory that made them.

The sample room

Choose the face first.

Furniture buyers start with what the customer sees. These are the faces most ordered for furniture, cabinets, interiors and packing; other species and finishes are quoted to your sample.

  • One full poplar-faced plywood panel lying on a pale surface, its creamy-white face almost plain and its edge showing thin layers

    Chip 01

    Poplar plywood

Creamy-white rotary-cut poplar face, almost plain, light and easy to paint, lacquer or laminate.

    Furniture carcasses, drawers, painted joinery

  • One full okoume-faced plywood panel with a pale pink-beige face and broad flame figure on a pale surface

    Chip 02

    Okoume plywood

Pale pinkish-beige face with a soft flame figure; a classic face for visible furniture and doors.

    Doors, panelling, visible furniture faces

  • One full bintangor-faced plywood panel with a warm reddish-brown face and fine grain on a pale surface

    Chip 03

    Bintangor plywood

Warm reddish-brown face with fine interlocked grain, chosen where the furniture is stained or left natural.

    Stained furniture, interior fit-out

  • One full birch-faced plywood panel with a pale cream face, soft wavy figure and small pin knots, its edge showing thin veneer layers

    Chip 04

    Birch-faced plywood

Imported birch face veneer pressed on a Vietnamese core: pale cream with a soft wavy figure.

    Kitchens, shelving, exposed-edge furniture

  • Two melamine-faced plywood panels, one white and one light oak woodgrain, offset to show their layered plywood edges

    Chip 05

    Melamine-faced plywood

A plywood core under decor paper in white, plain colours or woodgrain; ready to cut and edge-band.

    Wardrobes, kitchen carcasses, shop fittings

  • One MDF-faced plywood panel with a smooth light-brown MDF skin over a plywood core of thin pale layers

    Chip 06

    MDF-faced plywood

Thin MDF skins on a plywood core: the flat, paint-ready surface of MDF with the strength of plywood.

Painted doors, lacquered furniture, CNC parts

  • A small stack of commercial plywood panels with reddish-brown hardwood faces and layered edges

    Chip 07

    Commercial plywood

Hardwood-faced plywood built for value: a sound face, a commercial core and the tolerance the job needs.

    Upholstered frames, furniture backs, fit-out

  • An open packing crate built from plain plywood panels with layered edges and screwed corners

    Chip 08

    Packing plywood

Plywood for crates, pallets and transport packaging, with a core and face grade chosen for load, not looks.

    Crates, pallet tops, export packaging

Also quoted: pine, eucalyptus, gurjan, sapele and engineered-veneer faces, LVL, and outdoor grades with water-resistant glue. Ask for a face

Inside the panel

The core decides weight, flatness and price.

Vietnamese plywood is built on plantation cores. Two quotations with the same face and thickness can hide two different cores, so we always name the core species.

  • White Styrax core

    about 500 kg/m³

Light, pale and even. Many European furniture buyers choose it for clean edges and more cubic metres per container.

  • Eucalyptus core

    about 650 kg/m³

Denser and harder, with good screw holding. A firm choice for furniture under load and for thicker panels.

  • Acacia core

    about 580 kg/m³

The everyday core of commercial and packing plywood, with a balance of weight, strength and price.

  • Combi core

    by build

Mixed species layered to a target: a lighter centre with harder outer plies where the panel needs them.

Reference densities for loading plans; the actual panel is weighed before a container is planned.

Grade by the job

Three builds, priced for what they do.

The same face can sit on three very different panels. Tell us the application and we propose the build; if two offers differ in price, it is usually here.

Core stitching

Stitched cores stay flat after the saw.

In furniture grade the core veneers are stitched across and along the grain, usually the two to four plies nearest each face, so joints do not open and the face does not telegraph gaps. All plies can be stitched when the order calls for it.

  • Fewer core gaps on a cut edge
  • Flatter panels after machining
  • A cleaner base under thin faces and paint

Glue and emission

Two settings, written on two lines.

Glue type and formaldehyde class are separate specifications. We write them separately on the quotation so nothing is assumed.

E0 glue as default, about 6 hours boil resistance on test pieces

Melamine-fortified glue for about 12 hours boil; emission then usually E1

Cut-to-size

Quarters, sixths, eighths.

A full sheet can be cut at the mill into 4, 6 or 8 smaller panels, packed by size. European furniture buyers order this often: less waste in the workshop and fewer cuts on arrival.

Surface

Ready for your finishing line.

  1. 01

    Calibrated sanding

Both faces sanded to the agreed thickness for even glue lines and lacquer.

  2. 02

    Polished faces

A finer surface on request for clear finishes and natural-look furniture.

  3. 03

    UV-ready

Both faces prepared to take your UV coating. The mills prepare; you coat.

Mixed containers

Your range, in one box.

A container usually carries one or two products. By agreement we load three to six: poplar for carcasses, birch-faced for fronts, melamine for interiors, each from the mill that makes it best, consolidated before loading.

An illustrative 40HC split by bundle count. Your plan is drawn from your sizes and panel weights. 16 bundles.
  • One booking

One container, one bill of lading, one arrival.

  • Smaller stock lines

Order the slow sizes with the fast ones instead of waiting for a full load of each.

  • One payment schedule

Deposit and balance follow the same terms for the whole container.

Loading reference

How much fits depends on the core.

Bundles are about 1 m high. A 40HC normally takes sixteen bundles flat and two standing at the doors; heavier cores stop earlier because of the weight limit.

Core40HCVolume
Styraxup to 18 bundlesabout 53–54 m³
Acaciaup to 16 bundlesabout 46–47 m³
Eucalyptusup to 15 bundlesby panel weight

18 mm, 1220 × 2440 mm reference. We never overfill a container: overloaded bundles break their bearers and have to be unloaded by hand.

Inspection

Checked before it is packed.

Every order is checked against the approved sample and the agreed tolerance before the bundles are strapped. You receive photos and short videos of your panels before loading.

  1. 01

    Thickness

Measured across each sampled sheet, against the tolerance on your order.

  2. 02

Questions

Asked by furniture buyers.

Does Valoply manufacture the plywood?

Yes. Valoply produces in three member factories in Phu Tho, Vietnam, each with a line specialised for a different kind of panel. Every specification is pressed on the line that fits it, inspected and loaded under one plan, and you can visit the factories that produce your order.

What is the minimum order?

One 40HC container. A container usually carries one or two products; three to six can be combined by agreement.

Can one container mix different faces and thicknesses?

Yes. We plan the bundles by product, size and weight, consolidate panels from our member factories and load them as one container on one bill of lading.

Which core is best for furniture?

White Styrax core is light and pale and is often chosen by European furniture makers; eucalyptus is denser with stronger screw holding; acacia is the usual commercial and packing core. Tell us the application and we recommend the build.

Is birch-faced plywood the same as birch plywood?

No. Birch-faced plywood has a birch face veneer pressed on a Vietnamese plantation core. It gives the birch look on the face; the core species is stated on the quotation.

What thickness tolerance can you hold?

Sanded furniture grade is held to ±0.2–0.3 mm, commercial grade to ±0.5 mm and packing grade to ±0.5–1.0 mm. Length and width are ±2 mm.

Do you supply CARB P2 or FSC plywood?

Yes, CARB P2 / TSCA Title VI and FSC 100% or FSC Mix panels are available, supplied directly or through qualified partner mills. Certificate documents are shared before you confirm.

How long does production take?

Usually 15–45 days after the deposit, depending on quantity, the products in the container and the mills' schedule.

What are the payment terms?

30% deposit by T/T and the 70% balance against the B/L copy, or an irrevocable L/C at sight.

Can I get samples?

Yes. Free samples of the proposed faces and builds.

Can our inspector check the goods?

Yes. Your QC staff or a third-party inspection agency are welcome at the factory before loading, and you receive photos and videos of your panels before packing.

Will you help with EUDR?

Yes. For EU shipments we supply the forest-origin dossier with plot geolocation as GeoJSON, so the importer can file the due-diligence statement.
